Bart Clapp, a registered nurse who works in the surgical intensive care unit, was named Gadsden Regional Medical Center Employee of the Month for May.

Clapp, who has been with GRMC since 2008, said he was “overwhelmed” by the honor. He was presented with the award on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, by Chief Executive Officer Stephen Pennington.

Nominations sought for GRMC’s 2013 Patient Choice Award

Gadsden, Ala. – Each year, Gadsden Regional Medical Center recognizes one of its nurses with the Patient Choice Award and the help of patients and their families is needed.

The award recognizes the level of quality patient care, comfort and compassion offered by nurses each day.

As it has for the past three years, Gadsden Regional is asking the public for nominations. One nurse will be selected from those nominated and will be named the Patient Choice Award winner during National Nurses Week, May 6-12.

If you or a family member came to Gadsden Regional for inpatient, outpatient or emergency care in the past year and had a nurse who you believe deserves special recognition for the care she or he provided, here is your chance to help them receive it.
