There's still more than seven hours left to donate to your favorite Alabama non-profit organization on Alabama Gives Day, Feb. 2. This is the first year the state is participating in a 24-hour campaign to give money to hundreds of organizations that are participating statewide.
So far, close to 6,000 people have given toward a total of more than $500,000. The non-profit that currently has the most donations is Restoration Academy, with a total of $35,168 as of 4:35 p.m.
The website AlabamaGivesDay.org offers a searchable database of all of the participating non-profits, which range from family-based organizations to animal shelters to groups that support the arts, education and community development.
To donate, visit AlabamaGivesDay.org or call 1-888-466-4777. Donations will be accepted until midnight, Feb. 2.
