2011: Downtown Gadsden success continues

2011: Downtown Gadsden success continues

Gadsden, AL - 2011 was a year full of events and accomplishments in historic downtown Gadsden. Downtown Gadsden, Inc. (DGI) sponsored events such as the Chili Cook-Off, First Friday and the Third Thursday concert series. The Inaugural Downtown Art Experience took place September 16th and 17th, bringing artists from around the Southeast who spent their time painting in plein air downtown, specifically in the Chestnut Street district. Crowds at these events exceeded all expectations. DGI also co-sponsored several events such as the Summer Concert Series at the Amphitheater, Ghost Watch, Howl-O-Weenie Paw-ty, two Literary Pub Crawls and Christmas on Broad and Beyond. These events made downtown Gadsden a common gathering place in 2011 for people of all ages to meet, eat, shop and play.
